The presidents of the Association of Waste Managers of Andorra (Agreda), Francesc Zamora, and the Federation of Recycling Companies of Occitanie (Federec Occitanie), Paul Lassallette, signed this Friday morning in Toulouse a collaboration agreement between the two organizations with the aim of increasing economic exchanges between French and Andorran waste management companies. This collaborative relationship is part of the strategic line of the Andorran Business Confederation (CEA) - of which Agreda is a part - of "rebalancing Franco-Andorran economic and commercial relations to which Agreda wants contribute to it from the waste management sector".
Precisely, last week, the Andorran Business Confederation signed a collaboration agreement with Medef Occitanie similar to the agreement signed this Friday, as they recall through a statement.

The meeting, which - apart from Zamora and Lassallette - was also attended by the director of the Andorran Business Confederation, Iago Andreu-Sotelo, served to consolidate the possibilities of collaboration between Andorran and French companies in the sector, as well as to move forward together in the transition from linear economy models to the circular economy.
Zamora and Lassallette have evaluated the cooperation agreement very positively and trust that it is a first step to establish close relations and synergies between waste managers on both sides of the border.
Agreda brings together the Principality's twelve recycling companies. Currently, they develop 80% of their activity with Spain and 20% with France. Due to their many similarities (activity, geographical proximity, etc.), Agreda wants to "get closer" to Federec Occità nia to "create synergies and develop economic alliances between their companies".
Federec sees Andorra as "an ideal place to implement circular economy programs in the areas of waste management, energy, tourism and trade"; and thus create a 'hub' that brings together companies, industrial sectors and training. And from Agreda, the cooperative relationship with the French entity represents "an opportunity to have access to the experience, technology and good practices that have made France a country of reference in waste management and environmental protection", they indicate.
