The United States has submitted to the UN Security Council information about the transfer of weapons from North Korea to the Russian "Wagner Group" for use in the war against Ukraine, the coordinator of strategic communication of the National Security Council of the United States, John Kirby, said.
"We think the most important thing is to try to stop this flow of support from North Korea to Russia," Kirby told VOA English on Friday night.
Kirby emphasized that the United States calls on North Korea to "immediately stop these supplies, because they violate existing resolutions of the UN Security Council."
Another reason for appealing to the UN Security Council was that, according to Kirby, "the North Koreans were just brazenly lying about their support for Russia."

"They say they don't do it. They claim that they have nothing to do with it. And today we considered it important in connection with our talks at the UN to present clear evidence that they are actually supporting Russia with weapons and ammunition," said Kirby.
The United States includes the "Wagner Group" in the list of international criminal organizations
Earlier on Friday, Kirby announced that the United States included Russia's "Wagner Group" in the list of international criminal organizations for actions that create a "transcontinental threat", including a number of serious crimes.
At the end of December last year, Kirby reported that North Korea had supplied Russia with anti-personnel missiles, which were paid for by the Wagner Group, which would use them to wage war in Ukraine.
Citing recently declassified information, Kirby noted that the delivery took place in November. According to him, North Korea supplied Russia with infantry missiles and projectiles for use by the "Wagner Group".
In November, the White House said Pyongyang was secretly supplying Russia with a "significant amount" of artillery shells. North Korea has said it has never had an agreement to supply arms to Russia and has no plans to do so.
