Unions are asking that uniformed workers be able to retire with 25 years of service

The union platform proposes that uniformed officials, who are required to retire at age 60, be required to serve 25 years instead of the current 30. In a meeting with the tutelary ministers, the unions have sent their proposals for improvement to the Qualified Law for the creation and regulation of the civil service pension plan. Among these is a demand to reduce from 30 to 25 years of service for civil servants who retire at 60, as they "are forced to retire five years earlier than the rest of the workers" and end up receiving less . In addition, they indicate that the maximum time of service established by the previous regulations that regulated it was 25 years.

This proposal, which has been sent to the legislative finance committee, will be presented outside the wording of the provision and will be presented by the executive before the General Council, since the mandate that made the last amendment to the law established the requirement of 30 years of service. In addition, the unions have also asked for tweaks in several sections of the qualified law and the elimination of some sections due to "errors or repetitions".
