The crisis in the supply of medicines for children in Andorra persists

For about six months, Andorra has been suffering from a problem of drug shortages that is more pronounced than expected. Some of the products that are missing from pharmacies are essential, such as antibiotics for children, for example. The shortage mainly affects Amoxicillin 250mg/5ml, Azithromycin, Cefixime and Cefuroxime. According to sources consulted by Poble Andorrà, the issue will not be resolved in the short term,

 since one of the causes of the shortage is that manufacturers do not produce enough medicines. In addition, there are other factors that have contributed to aggravating the problem, such as the fact that in the last three months more people have fallen ill than in recent years and the consumption of drugs has increased.
