The President of the European Commission, Ursula von de Leyen, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, assured Ukraine of Europe's continued support "as much as it will be needed" and congratulated the courage and resilience of Ukrainians, who "inspired the world" in the face of "cruel" full-scale Russian aggression and " relentless attacks" of Russia on the civilian population.
Von de Leyen noted that Ukraine is now a candidate to join the European Union, and that European countries are providing "more and more important weapons" as well as accepting four million Ukrainian refugees. The senior official also said that Russian crimes will not go unpunished, writes The Guardian.
During the forum in Davos, Switzerland, von der Leyen noted that Kyiv needs all possible help in reconstruction. According to her, the people of Ukraine "really deserve" international knowledge and finance for reconstruction.
